New York City: A Stylist’s Dream

The fashion, diversity, cultures, and history are just a few reasons why my love continues to run strong for New York City. This city has my heart and always will.

This trip was an extra special one because my styling assistant, Meredith and I were able to enjoy New York Fashion Week and there is nothing more exciting than that for two stylists!

We started out the trip at a favorite Italian restaurant of mine, Bistro Milano. If you appreciate authentic Italian food (most incredible caprese salad and margarita pizza), great ambiance and excellent service, then you MUST try this place.

After filling our tummies, we caught a glimpse of Carolina Herrera’s final fashion show where we were lucky enough to chat with Ms. J. Alexander who explained his love for Herrera and the genuine, talented and inspiring woman she is. What an icon.

The next morning was all about fueling up for our busy day with smoothies at Joe & The Juice – if you are in NYC; this is another must. The smoothies are delicious and are great fuel for walking the city and exploring. Our exploring this day consisted of viewing new pieces in women’s and men’s stores throughout NYC where we fell in love with beautiful spring colors, fun patterns, and endless styling inspiration.

Club Monaco was the next exciting event on our list. For their spring show, they skipped the runways and celebrated the spirit of individuality with their “Now You See Me” campaign. Mirrors vs. runways, poetry, wine and so many remarkable books – it was inspirational and refreshing all at the same time.

SoHo oh how I love spending time in SoHo – and that is just what we did. If you are ever there, be sure to stop off for a fantastic brunch at Jack’s Wife Freda, you will not regret it. Mere and I are still texting each other about our cravings for it. Amazing boutiques, vintage shopping, and beautiful cobblestone roads – it is hard to not fall in love with SoHo!

We ended our trip with a few more stores for inspiration and a stroll through Central Park because, well, how can you not?! When in Rome… right? Every single time I visit NYC, I feel nothing but gratitude, love, and inspiration. My love runs deep, and I have a funny feeling so does Mere’s.

Until next time beautiful NYC!
