It seems as the weather gets warmer the more color I start adding to my wardrobe. Now don’t get me wrong, I love a classic black and white look, but lately I am loving bold color statement pieces. From shoes to blazers, and everything in between there are so many amazing ways to incorporate a statement color into an everyday look.

Blazer:  Whether it is a bold red lip that completes your look or a bold red blazer, you can never go wrong with a touch of red.

Pumps: I have to be honest, I have never been a huge fan of yellow in my wardrobe, but these heels have changed that. One of my favorite things about them is you can throw them on with the most modest of looks, and BAM the heels make the outfit. This is a perfect example of letting the statement piece be the statement piece.

Blouse:  This top is the perfect example of a piece that will stand the test of time in your wardrobe. Shocked that a bold piece like this will last throughout the years? Classic basic pieces aren’t the only items that can stand the test of time, think about how many amazing vintage blouses are out there and how many of them are more than likely a printed bold piece! In this situation, I love to play into the black in the blouse by wearing black on bottom or  break the look up with a charcoal denim. Either way, I recommend keeping your shoe on the simple side of styling – let the top be the top.

Colored Denim:  I love a good splash of this gorgeous poppy color. Not to mention, I’m all about a little bit of fraying on the cuff of a pair of denim – a little distressing never hurt anyone. Again, let’s let the pants be the pants and keep the styling simple.

Loafers: Bold color and chain detail – you had me at chain detail, OK and maybe bold color. Either way, I am loving the simplicity of these shoes and how throwing them on with a pair of denim and something simple on top and you have the perfect ending to a perfect outfit.

Clutch: If you want to be a little bold in color or keep it simple in black or white with your outfit,  you cannot go wrong with a colored clutch or bag. I am a huge fan of the simplicity and traditional look with pops of color!

These are just a few of my current favorite pieces with bold colors! For my bold look, I wore my red blazer from Banana Republic and kept the rest of my look simple with a black tank layered underneath, denim, and a basic pump. Oh, and of course I added a pop with a red lip! Style is all about pushing the boundaries and getting out of your comfort zone! I challenge you to incorporate a bold color big or small into your look this weekend!
