Men’s Summer Sale Staple Pieces
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times – do not get too carried away on sale pieces UNLESS they compliment your closet, are good staples and you will absolutely wear them. Always stop and ask yourself, “Would I buy this at full price?” If you can say no to this question, you should walk away.
With that being said, I wanted to share my top 5 staple men’s summer sale pieces! Each one of these pieces will stand the test of time in a wardrobe and are extremely versatile. Here we go…
I’ve always said that every man should have at least one quarter zip pullover in their wardrobe. This one by Peter Millar is great quality, extremely comfortable and versatile! You can style a quarter zip with denim or elevate with a dress short or pant (do a black vee-neck tee underneath if elevating).
There are also several other color options in this style.
ATHLETIC TAPERED TRAVELER PANT
You probably have not forgotten what a big fan I have been of the Traveler Denim by Banana Republic – quite honestly, I think it has been one of the best denim lines out there. And it’s even better when it’s marked down a bit like this style! I love this take on a khaki pant because you get comfort and style all at the same time. The days of pleated and out-dated khaki pants are long gone (phew). If you are in need of a color like this in your wardrobe, I highly recommend these babies!
CLASSIC SOFT WASH OXFORD SHIRT
OK guys, here is another great staple shirt to have in your wardrobe. Not only can this Oxford style shirt be styled many, many ways but it’s a great length to wear untucked – yes, you can wear a button-down untucked AS LONG AS the length works for it and does not give a sloppy vibe. A shirt like this is also a piece that can save your last minute need to get out the door self (but also need to look a bit more put together). Also, never be afraid to roll the sleeves for an even more casual vibe. The way the shirt is styled in the photo, think concert. Or a dinner with a clean denim (no distressing).
There is nothing more stylish than being casual yet still put together and this shoe allows for just that. Lacoste knocked it out of the park with this stylish sneaker and I could not be more excited about it (oh ya, and it’s marked down – yay)! This shoe works great with denim and a blazer, denim and a button down (roll those sleeves right up) and can also work with a more elevated pant.
Rounding out my top 5 sale pieces is this Express Slim Stretch Blazer and here’s why… Not only is it important to have a charcoal blazer in your wardrobe, it is important to also have a casual version. I promise you will get more use out of owning a casual version (think blazer and denim, think travel piece, think VERSATILE). Remember, always always make sure you are in the right size blazer and nothing too oversized. If you are wearing an oversized blazer, you are defeating the purpose of being more put together. Also, never hesitate to have alterations done in areas that are needed.
